May 10, 2021 (Wilmington, NC) — The Wilmington St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee (Committee) today announced that the Cape Fear Hooley Under the Bridge (4th Annual Irish Music Festival) will take place on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Waterline Brewing Co. in downtown Wilmington from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Proceeds from the Hooley will be used for the Wilmington Halfway-to-St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Parade), a fun event for the entire family, which will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 18, in downtown Wilmington.
The 2021 Irish Music Festival has been rebranded as a Hooley (a lively Irish party with music) to reflect its expanded hours and the additional family entertainment offerings. The Hooley events will occur primarily outside at Waterline and will be organized in compliance with North Carolina state guidelines.
Joe Costy, spokesperson for the Committee, commented that the Hooley reflects the strong Irish music and culture present in the Cape Fear area. Mr. Costy also stated that the Committee is proud to again have the Wilmington Police Pipes and Drums on stage, and noted that it has been an annual favorite in the Parade. For the schedule of the Hooley events and performances, please refer to www.wilmingtonparade.com.
Donations will be accepted at the door and during the evening, all of which will be used for Parade expenses.
